Agency Contracts over $100,000
On 20 June 2001, Australia's Senate agreed to an Order which
requires all Financial Management and Accountability Act
1997 agencies to publish a list of contracts entered into by
the agency which have not been fully performed or which have been
entered into during the previous twelve months, and which provides
for a consideration of $100,000 or more. The internet listing must
include the following details in relation to each contract:
- the contractor, the amount of the consideration and the subject
matter of each such contract;
- the commencement date and the duration of the contract;
- the relevant reporting period and the twelve month period
relating to the contract listings;
- whether each such contract contains provisions requiring the
parties to maintain confidentiality of any of its provisions, or
whether there are any other requirements of confidentiality, and a
statement of reasons for the confidentiality;
- an estimate of the cost of complying with the order; and
- a statement of the method used to estimate the cost of
compliance.

Basis of method used to estimate the cost - staff involved in
preparing the report were asked to estimate the time taken to
provide the relevant information. The total cost reflects these
estimates and includes all staff on-costs such as salary,
superannuation, Comcare premium, staff training, long service leave
(non-cash) provision, overtime and higher duties, together with the
cost of legal advice obtained in relation to complying with this
advice.
