Employment Opportunities

Careers at the Australian Transport Safety Bureau

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) is an independent Commonwealth Government statutory Agency. The Bureau is managed by a Commission and is entirely separate from transport regulators, policy makers and service providers.

The ATSB advertises jobs on this website, as well as in the APS Jobs, the press and/or online.

Conditions of service: ATSB salaries and conditions of service for non-SES employees are set under a collective agreement. At this time, the ATSB is covered by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau, Enterprise Agreement 2009-2011 [PDFPDF: 512KB].

Before applying for a job: you should review the selection criteria and duty statement together with the application kit, which includes key information about the job and the duties. You may discuss the job and any questions you have with the contact nominated within the job listing. The Australian Public Service Commission's Cracking the Code: How to apply for jobs in the Australian Public Service, may further assist you in addressing the selection criteria.

ATSB jobs are only open to Australian citizens, although in some cases, non-Australian citizens may be considered for employment. Any offer of employment will generally be made on the condition that an applicant is eligible to obtain Australian citizenship and will endeavour to do so.

All positions in ATSB are security assessed and successful applicants will need to obtain and maintain a security clearance at an appropriate level. Security clearance forms will be sent to all successful candidates with their letter of offer. These papers must be completed and returned prior to their commencement.

Applications should be sent to:

ATSB Recruitment Officer
PO Box 967
Civic Square, ACT 2608

or by email to: recruitment@atsb.gov.au
